Selling Online: Tips for Good Product Descriptions

In order for your products to sell well, you have to do more than simply upload an image and slap on a price tag!  Check out these suggestions to make your products stand out.



Write an original product description
. Using a recycled description of the product you are selling will not increase your rankings in search engines. Subsequently, you will not increase your customer base. Try to create descriptions that are compelling, informative, and unique. 

Write with search engine optimization in mind. Sales are possible when shoppers find your products. Write product descriptions that are at least 250 words in length. You must identify frequently searched, relevant keywords associated with your products and be sure to infuse those words and variations of them into your descriptions and tags.

Keep your customer in mind. Tone down "word density" by using bullet points and subheadings. Include basic product information within the description, like color, material and/or dimensions. Each product will have specific information you should make easily available to shoppers.

Include (GOOD) product images. Customers who can see what they are about to buy are more likely to follow through with their purchases. Your images must be professional and high quality. 

Include product reviews. Encourage your buyers to leave seller feedback on your FestivalNet shop! Product reviews are a helpful way to engage more sales. Usually, people provide information that might not be included in the original description and provide assurances to new potential customers. Many customers will not buy from a site that does not include product reviews and ratings
