Wine + Festivals = A Really Good Time!

Americans are in love with wine. Wine festivals are popping up all over the place, according to MSN, with the biggest, Epcot's Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, attracting hundreds of thousands with the promise of delicious vintages and snacks to wash them down with. The quality of American wine has been ratcheting up for years now, and can genuinely hold its own against the likes of Australian and European lines.  Find many wine (and beer) themed events on FestivalNet.com.  Read on for a few wine events in North America.

In Vancouver, variety

One of the most exciting and high class wine events in North America is the Vancouver International Wine Festival. According to local news outlet BIV, the May 2022 event saw 101 wineries, from 41 countries, contributing 27 events over the 6 day event. The USA has had a huge and strong showing there. Of particular interest are the wide range of California vintages that have made their way over. California wines are increasing in quality, and products like wine buyers clubs help to provide a wide range and taste of these flavors to everyday wine enthusiasts. What events like the Vancouver festival help to do is provide a real idea of how these wines are critiqued, and to raise the profile of American wines and their inherent quality.

Luxury in Naples

Another of the best yearly wine festivals anywhere in North America is held in Naples, Florida. The Naples Winter Wine Festival, which is held in January every year, is not only an excellent opportunity for wines to show off their best to a wider market, but also a huge charity event, raising money for a range of good causes from the wine-making regions of the USA and from the enthusiasts who come to sample new vintages and new blends. According to Wine Spectator magazine, the festival also helps to debut and show off international vintages from the classic wine-making regions.

European regality in America

In the opinion of Mashed, one of the best wine festivals in North America is the Key West Food & Wine Festival, which has a lot of quality to offer. Set in a beautiful island setting and offering several world-class vintages, the event really leans into the European wine heritage, with Masquerade Balls, and, in past events, a French revolution party with the theme of 'let them eat cake'. Imparting a jovial atmosphere but also a multi area wine making extravaganza, and mixing real quality with a sense of classic class, the event is one of the best.

Wine festivals are a classy and interesting affair no matter where they crop up. An opportunity to showcase home-grown wines, as well as the very best the world has to offer, they're a lot of fun and one of the highlights of the American festival circuit.
