Tips for setting up your default email to utilize "Get Booked"

 

Windows 11

1. Click the Start (blue square icon) on your computer taskbar bottom left.
2. Search for Default apps.
3. Search for MAILTO.
4. Choose your preferred default email application by clicking on the URL:MailTo Protocol choice. The available options will depend on the applications you have installed on your computer.
5. Click Set Default to save your choice.

Windows 7 / Windows 8.1 / Windows 10

1. Click the Start menu on your computer taskbar.
2. Select Default Programs.
3. Select Set your default programs.
4. Choose your preferred default email application under the Programs list. The available options will depend on the applications you have installed on your computer.
5. Once you've selected your email application, make sure to click Set this program as default.
6. Click OK to save your settings.

Mac

1. Open Mail.
2. Once the application is open, click Mail > Preferences.
3. Click the General button at the top of the new window.
4. Choose your default email application from the selection menu next to "Default Email Reader:."
5. When you exit the application, your preferences will be saved.

Setting up Gmail as Your Default Email Program in Various Browsers

Chrome -
Step 1: Open Gmail in Chrome and click the Protocol Handler icon Double Rhomb in your browser's address bar. If you don't see this icon, skip ahead to step 3.
Step 2: When prompted to "Allow Gmail to open all email links?", select "Use Gmail," and click "Done." Then you're done! Skip steps 3-5.
Step 3: If you were unable to see the Protocol Handler icon Double Rhomb, click the Chrome menu icon Menu Bars in the top right corner of your browser, and choose "Settings."
Step 3: In the sidebar, select Privacy and security.
Step 4: Click Site settings.
Step 5: Open Additional permissions.
Step 6: Click Protocol handlers.
Step 7: Enable Sites can ask to handle protocols.
Step 8: Open Gmail.com in a separate tab.
Step 9: In the address bar, click on the double diamonds.
Step 10: When you see “Allow mail.google.com to open all links?”, click Allow.

Firefox -

Step 1: In the top left corner of your Firefox browser, click the Firefox menu button. Then choose "Options."
Step 2: Click the "Applications" tab, type "mailto" into the search bar, and click the drop-down arrow next to the "Action" column. Select "Use Gmail," click "OK," and you're done!
