Karen McFadden, Schwenksville, PA
2D artist from the suburbs of Philadelphia PA. I usually paint with oil and acrylic paint, but never limit myself to those mediums.
I cannot claim to fall into any particular style of painting because my inspiration comes from our infinite world of beauty. My work currently consists of abstracts, nature, landscapes, human figure, and portraits.
I didn't begin painting until my late thirties after a series of health issues that separated me from my usual routines. Illness had so negatively impacted my life, and painting is healing for me. I step outside of the problem and focus on something wonderful, something beautiful.
I realize that a lot of artist have a particular "style". I admire and used to envy that. I have come to understand that for me personally, not locking myself into a particular style of painting equals freedom. It allows me to continually learn, grow and change.
IRecently, have been delving a bit more into jewelry making. It feels wonderful to try new mediums and expand as an artist.
