I learned to knit as a child growing up in Egypt and I have always had a passion for hand knitting. In 2008, I hand knitted a three button shawl for my daughter.

One after the other, my friends and family began asking me to knit shawls for them in different colors with matching buttons. 
In 2009, I created a website for my shawls and in October 2009 my shawls were featured on The TODAY Show by Hoda Kotb and again in 2010. Hoda also showed one of my shawls on Martha Stewart Show.
