33rd Annual NC Potters Conference, Seagrove, NC

The North Carolina Pottery Center in Seagrove, NC is a non-profit organization that provides a broader educational experience about the history of North Carolina ceramic arts to students, teachers, potters, scholars, pottery collectors and tourists. This includes an artist-in-residence program, workshops, classes, exhibitions, and events that promote our mission.

As part of that mission, the NC Pottery Center is hosting the 33rd Annual NC Potters Conference March 5-8th, 2020. This conference has a long history of providing a forum for some of the most renowned ceramic artists in our field to demonstrate and discuss their work and business practices. 

The majority of the conference programming will be held at the Historic Luck's Cannery located, at 798 NC-705, Seagrove, NC 27341, along the renowned NC Pottery Highway 705. This conference centers on simultaneous demonstrations cultivating a dialogue of techniques, concepts, and experiences between the artists and the audience. Unlike other conferences, you do not have to pick and choose which workshops to attend. All the demonstrations and presentations are scheduled for the entire group. 

Three demonstrators will work side-by-side, encouraging questions, and conversing with the audience and each other. Interspersed in the program are speakers that will help to inform on a diversity of contemporary business practices including marketing, advertising, and manufacturing. Every aspect of the 2020 NC Potters Conference is designed to explore the similarities and differences, and sometimes the similarities in our differences, that we share in executing our craft.
