The high desert of the South West has offered a more open and land based influence in my WoodCarving. Without the obstruction of the forest, terrain can be viewed for many miles from my studio. This visibility raises visions and concepts that I am incorporating into my latest wooden creations. I feel that my work has grown in proportion and scale to accommodate the feelings gathered while interacting with the land and its people. Along with a freeform carving style, structured words are incorporated into signage and plaques that can hang on an interior wall to remind us of the little things in life, and some not so little things.
