3D The Boss Rocks it in Atlanta at The Children’s School!

On Friday, October 17th, 3D The Boss gave an exhilarating, roof-raising performance to more than 200 elementary-aged children at Atlanta’s most popular intown neighborhood school, The Children’s School.  Nestled between a series of classy, upscale homes, the school’s sounds of thunderous applause, singing and dancing could have easily caused it to be cited for breaking the neighborhood’s noise ordinance.  But, this most unique Pre-K and elementary school, which boasts educating some of Atlanta’s most intelligent, creative and free-spirited students coming from all walks of American family life, managed to raise the roof without disturbing the neighbors too much.

3D The Boss set the place on fire from the first note of the first song, 3D Life, inviting the children to “Put your hands up!”.  Full of high voltage dancing, the song’s routine included a one- handed plank hold, then a drop into a pistol squat and finally landed in a meditation lotus pose. How the singers managed to do all this and continue performing  with steady voices was beyond amazing. Before long, the whole room was booming with the energy and calibration of this athletic music group who is quickly becoming known for its boundless enthusiasm and authentic connection with the audience.

By the second song, “Happy” by Pharrell Williams, the children were on their feet, dancing on stage with C Lei and The.O with so much laughter and joy that the teachers and parents had to move and join in, too.  The.O and C Lei kept the energy high with other dance-inspiring originals, such as Merry-Go-Round and even invited the students to hold three-minute plank holds during the song Win.  Three students were courageous and victorious in completing the exercise and were awarded autographed 3D The Boss CDs.  Even the parents and teachers graced the stage with a line dance to “Shake it Off”, much to the delight of the students.

When asked to participate in a dance with The.O, one brave little girl came on stage and danced with him while C Lei sang and played “Love of My Life” on piano.  Even more inspiring was The.O’s heartwarming rendition of Nikokunda, a Zambian word which means, I Love You, in which he invited the whole room to raise their O’s and sing along.  The peace and beauty of that moment -- more than 200 voices singing together to the strum of The.O’s soothing guitar accompaniment -- was captured professionally by 3D’s team videographer and will soon be available to watch on the 3D The Boss website (www.3dtheboss.com).

The amazing event concluded with the title track, Lollapalooza!, a truly extraordinary thing, as its meaning suggests.  The audience was invited to put up their 3D L’s on the choruses and jump up and down throughout the performance. What ensued was pure magic as the room could barely hold the sound and frequency of so much exhilarance.  3D The Boss completed the performance by greeting each and every student and teacher as they exited the gymnasium, reminding them to “Make EveryDay YourDay.”
