The African American Coalition (ACOR) and Callowhill Art & Cultural Center is a non-profit 501( c) 3 organization that works hand in hand to support, encourage and give local artists of all mediums and ages venues to showcase their works and talents. We also support craftsmen/women that can not afford to have their own shops by giving them a place to sell their works, by having a Vendors Marketplace every Saturday. Our establishment is open to all who would like to utilize the facility to conduct workshops, classes, meetings and hold small events.
Our two main events are the Black History Month Celebration held the 2nd Saturday in February. and the Juneteent Celebration. Both focus on the trails and triumps of Black History. It is done through song, dance, music, speakers, art exhibits, displays, and storytellers, We have many vendors at both these events and both these events are free to the public. Neither could be done without the help and support from the local participants and performers.
