My name is Alan. We ( my wife and I) create functional art that is unique and made to last a lifetime. Customers usual response to it is: WOW!
My back ground ~I spent several years cabinet making then furniture making, and finally- the big jump to house building. After 25 years, I felt it was time to go back to what I love~ woodworking! I work out of my one car garage, and sand, drill and turn all the pieces I make. When she is not working on her own art, my wife Kathy, helps with organizing, photographing, displaying, listing, categorizing, packaging and shipping.
The base material I use is to create my candle holders and other pieces is manzanita, brought back to life by lots of sanding. I prefer to use this wood because of its inherently beautiful color variations and patterns as well as its unique twisted shape. I add hardwoods to it that I think compliment the manzanita and a candle holder, lamp or whatever I like, is made.
