Amy began playing the harp in 1986, and began playing professional engagements in 1989. She began lessons at age 11 with Maria O'Brian of Houston's Irish harp community, later studying with Joan Eidman of the Houston Ballet Orchestra, and finally at the University of Houston's Moore's School of Music with Bea Rose who enjoyed 40 years as the principle harpist for the Houston Symphony. Amy regularly plays for private and public events in the Houston area and serves as principle harpist with several small symphonies in Southeast Texas and Louisiana. During the week Amy teaches piano and harp lessons in Baytown, where she lives with her family
