I love the idea of having made a mug, bowl, or plate that one can use and feel a sense of joy, love, comfort, or togetherness. I am drawn to ceramics because I find it meditative, quieting, challenging, and grounding. Creating something special, unique, and out of the ordinary from a lump of clay with my hands brings me joy. The human touch in all my work is something I am very mindful of as well as giving my pieces a sense of joyful energy.
