Originally, from the Eastern Shore I've lived in the New England area for more than twenty years. I've been a single mom, a grandmother and I work third shift as a direct care provider in human services. Previously, I worked two jobs until being laid off from my part-time job. Needing to replace the missing income I decided to put my creativity to work. I've always love making things, decorating, and planning events so I felt my creativity could help me earn extra money instead of continuing to work two job into my golden years.
Starting with taking a correspondence class for jewelry making and a couple of online classes, I've created a website and a Facebook page to sell my jewelry. It's a work in progress and I'm still learning; starting a business is a serious endeavor that requires much more work and time, including learning to market my product. Starting this small crafting business is therapeutic but challenging; however I'm enjoying what I'm doing and have a lot confidence that I will succeed. I see myself in the near future as a successful professional silversmith and glass fusion artist.
My handmade jewelry business is New Journey Design and this is a great New Journey in my life.
