Hi everyone, My name is Marcia Gray. I was raised in the state of Oregon and have enjoyed playing around with art projects since I can remember. My father was a very gifted wood worker and I owe most of my talent to him, as he put up with my many questions and took time to allow me to participate in many of his artistic endeavors. I love to paint and generally stay with acrylics or watercolors. I have won several awards for my paintings but have found that by following what calls me, I have expanded my work to include working with wood as well as other products. The rustic and shabby shic styles motivates me into adding my own personal touch. When creating a piece, it may be entirely handmade or refurbished and made into something completely useable in another way. You may even see some "Steampunk" in a few of my projects. Nothing is unaccomplished once I see the vision and there's always a lot to be worked on. I tried telling myself, "One thing at a time", but that never works! As long as I'm creating art, I'm happy. Though mostly a self taught painter, I have studied with the late Patsy Lou Gray to whom I owe a great deal of love and appreciation for her knowledge of the arts. Currently living in Washington with my very supportive husband and our crew of animals, (three dogs, a cat and a parrot), there's never a dull moment. I find that if I just look around, there's always something catching my eye, just waiting to become a new piece of art.
