ABOUT US
On a snowy day (3/2/09), I watched from the French Doors, as my sons played in the snow. Little did I know that would be Jon’s last snow…
I will never forget that day, on March 3rd, when my world came crashing in. We had been without power all night. Jon woke up feeling a little sick at his stomach, which was not unusual with our history of sinuses & asthma. By lunch time Jon was unresponsive & the ambulance was called. I held my son for the last time, begging him to wake up & telling him over/over that I loved him. It was discovered that he had Bacterial Meningitis (non-contagious). From that morning until early that afternoon my son was “brain dead”. During all this time, there was a time in which I knew, as a mother, my son was almost gone. I sang to him & held his hand. I told him that if he saw even a glimpse of Jesus or heard the angels singing, to run as fast as he could into Jesus’. You see, there I knew everything would be alright. After that, Jon ran into Jesus’ arms! Some say how could I do such a thing? I tell them that I couldn’t without Jesus in my heart.
After this, I needed something to “preoccupy” my time. We went to a craft show that Thanksgiving & got some ideas. My friend told me I should try Bottle Cap Jewelry with fabric. I wanted something my own/my “signature” to create. There was plenty of Bottle Cap Jewelry, but NONE made of fabric & that’s where it all began.
As for the name “Aunt BB’s Designs”, this was named by my precious little niece Kelsey! Since she started talking, she has called me “Aunt BB”. Thus became my business name.
