My name is Barb Barbee, I am an artist and jewelry designer living in Delaware Ohio.  I have been creating jewelry for the past 26 years and selling my work at art shows for 23 years.

I can't remember a time when I wasn't working on some kind of art project, drawing, painting, working with clay, sewing, embroidering or building something.  My jewelry business grew out of my love for rocks and minerals.  A friend taught me how to string beads. I wore my new jewelry to work the next day and started selling jewelry that week.  I taught myself how to wire wrap because at that time (the early 90's) I could not find someone to teach me. Wire wrapping was a secret.  I took a jewelry class in 1994 to learn diamond setting and lost wax casting.  I started doing silversmithing work next.  I've been making and selling jewelry full-time since 1996 and still love doing it!

I still get a rush of adrenaline when I come to a show and see all the white tents!  I enjoy my customers as much as I enjoy making the jewelry. I enjoy helping them find something new.  It's very exciting to sell something you made and having someone else would like it as much as you do.

I have always tried to create affordable, well-crafted and well-designed jewelry.   All my jewelry is handmade incorporating precious and semi-precious gemstones in my work.  I use sterling silver, 14k gold, 14k gold-fill and copper in my designs.

My contemporary jewelry is hand-fabricated primarily in Sterling silver, Argentum silver and 14k gold-fill.  Each piece is individually made.  The wire wrap jewelry is made using my pliers and mandrels and my hands. I don't use a jig to form the wire.

I create a mixture of styles, including silversmith work, wire wrapping and beadwork. I

enjoy combining the different techniques to create my jewelry.  I am a member of the

Worthington Craft Guild & The International Guild of Wire Jewelry Artists. You can find me at shows all over Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Kentucky and Florida.

I am part of a co-op Pizazz Gift Shop inside The Shops at Worthington Place since 2010.
Pizazz is part of the Worthington Craft Guild that has been around since 1973
