Aside from being a wood shop teacher, I got my start with Barrier Island Woodworking in 2013 when my wife and I moved in together in Long Beach. We needed a small dining table for our apartment so I decided to make a custom four-seat high top made from recycled pallet wood and black pipe. A colleague saw the table as I was finishing it, fell in love with it and immediately requested a similar one. The rest is history
