Upon retiring from 30yrs in the Naturopath business breast cancer reared its ugly head. Working with natural and conventional treatments for a very aggressive breast cancer I made it to the other side and now 6 years later am well and thriving. As I was coming out of my 10th surgery and 2 failed attempts at reconstruction, I had a flash back of when I was 10 years old and my father making one of the first prosthetic bras. A manufacture company stole my dad's patent and so his dream never came to fruition. Fifty years later that his vision gave me a drive and purpose. I felt called, that I should carry on what he started. I had to learn how to body cast, sculpt, build molds and work with different materials. I have always been crafty but this had a real purpose. I also have a line of prosthetic nipples. I noticed that the nipples had the ability to stick on by themselves and for some reason I started making fun things to stick on. Women who have had breast cancer usually don't have a positive image of their bodies and this was a way to have some fun dressing up my body in a different way. Every time I wore one of my pieces out the question would come up where is the chain? I hope you will have as much fun wearing them as I do.
