Birdsong Gourd Art, Oroville, CA

Incredible gourds are used to create masks, vessels, figures and musical instruments. The art process on these hollowed out plants incorporates carving, woodburning, leather dyes and acrylic paint, then they are embellished with date palm, basketry, feathers and beads. My interest in cultures from around the world and objects found in nature are the inspiration for my pieces.
