I am an artist working with abstract patterns and designs on Asian papers. I create these by using the monoprint technique of painting on an acrylic sheet and placing the paper on top and rubbing from the back. I take these papers and make a cylinder shape lampshade and match it with a simple round base that I designed. The lamps are colorful and add an elegant, beautiful presence and glow wherever they are placed. I also use some papers designed in Japan, Nepal and Thailand. I have been making these lamps for 9 years and displayed them in many venues and galleries.

I have recently added small wall art prints. I photograph sections of the monotype prints and add silhouettes of birds, animals, trees and plants on them. I print these and mount them on canvas, these pieces are 8” square, and work singly or in a group.

My background as an artist was directed on printmaking. I have a MFA in printmaking and became a masterprinter with my own studio in NYC. After working with many well known artists creating their prints for 17 years, I decided to change course and focus on my own work. I have always been intrigued by light and nature, shadows and back lighting, patterns and colors. These interests moved me to the work I am doing now.
