Rita Pizarro's artistic inspiration began at a very young age. She excels in any media and genre she chooses. Hailing from the Hudson Valley in upstate New York, she was immersed in music and art, encouraged by her mother who is also an artist. As a young girl, she found her most natural expression through her innate artistic abilities, mostly self-taught. Through out school Rita won so many artistic awards, from childhood on, a career in art was inevitable. She has an affinity for two very different design styles: drawn to the clean lines and geometric shapes of contemporary modern, enjoying the discipline and skills it takes to achieve the simplicity. She also loves the layers of richness of primitive, ethnic, and tribal art. She works to give both of these styles expression in her pieces mixing the two at times.
Her passion lies within sacred mosaic work heavily influenced by old ancient designs in temples, mosques and churches.
