Cannon Design was started by a wife and husband team, James and Greta Cannon. At the time, both were exploring various art mediums and soon would be doing so together. In 1984, a local art show in Santa Fe, brought the two together.
Shortly after, they decided to call New Mexico their home. A decade later they had their only child, a daughter, who currently studies in Albuquerque and assists in marketing their jewelry. Cannon Design is a collaboration of various mediums represented by each other's love and knowledge of the creative process.
Over the years, forces of nature have inspired these artists to create pieces using natural objects collected while Traveling the world. Their most recent collection of jewelry shows true distinction. With the incorporation of precious metals, semi-precious stones, Japanese yuzen papers and soft glass tubing, yet another medium was born. Care and attention to detail is reflected in each high quality piece.
Cannon Design has been presented with numerous awards such as Best of Show Utah Arts Festival (2005), Best of Show Challenge New Mexico (2004), 1st Place Best in Sculpture Scottsdale Arts Festival, 1st Place Best in Jewelry Scottsdale Arts Festival, and Best Booth Bayou City Arts Festival (2006) to name a few. James and Greta Cannon have also been featured on The Carol Duvall Show on HGTV in 2003.
