Named "Folk Band to Watch in 2015" by Jivewired.com The Captain Ledge Band continues to build on the success of it's nationally broadcast video for "Threadbare". The video, a single off their first album "Great White Skunk" was produced by former Hanson videographer Paul Lawson. The album includes the song "Neurologically Poor" a track where they are joined by Jimmy Henley, winner of "World's Best Banjo Player" as well as having toured with Roy Clark for over 25 years. The bands first album also included the efforts of a guitar player Tony Adams from the band of Grammy Award Winner Michael Ginsberg. The Captain Ledge Band combines it's love for sailing with some of that famous Oklahoma Red Dirt to create a unique and engaging sound that has found a growing audience world wide.
The band's sophomore album highlights the growth of lead singer and songwriter, Jeana Downing, both vocally and as an accomplished mandolin player. She is joined by husband and co-writer, Cliff Downing, in crafting a songwriting style that both tells a story and leaves you tapping your feet to the beat. This album, slated to be released summer of 2015, brings to the mix guitar player Greg Gash, a touring guitarist to add an energetic and exciting tone to their plugged in acoustic sound.
This is the "new" band festival promoters look for. Building on success over the last 5 years, The Captain Ledge Band continues to gain attention from the likes of festivals like The Cutting Edge Music Conference and Festival in New Orleans, LA where they have been invited for their second appearance in August 2015. The Captain Ledge Band is road ready!
