Caribbean Cultural & Carnival Organization (ccco), Detroit, MI

The Caribbean Cultural and Carnival Organization (CCCO), is a nonprofit organization, comprised of several organized groups in Michigan representing the numerous countries. The CCCO was officially formed in January 1979, with the following objectives: •To promote and interpret Caribbean culture to the Metropolitan Detroit community through educational means and cultural activities. •To promote greater cooperation and unity among the Caribbean people living in the Metropolitan Detroit area. •To highlight the bringing together of Caribbean people in a major annual event, a Caribbean Festival, termed "CARIVAL:Caribbean International Festival.
