I was born in Memphis, Tennessee, where my dad studied opera and played the French horn. We moved to New Orleans when I was three. I began singing when I was only 6 years old in my children's church choir and stayed with the group all the way through high school. I have served as a congregational song leader, adult choir member and soloist, have sung in a trio and quartet, and have developed a talent singing accapella. I've also been a Sunday school teacher for just about all age groups and currently teach the teenage class. I was blessed 2 years ago with an opportunity to record my first CD and have just released my 2nd project!
Seldom do we get a second chance in this life, but I received three of them. I was blessed to reunite with my "first love" (since we were thirteen) and we were married for 25 years until he suffered a massive heart attack and was called home to the Lord in September, 2003. I was then reunited with my first daughter, Julie, whom I had given up for adoption almost 21 years prior and we now share our music, my son-in-law and 2 wonderful grandchildren. We often sing at the same functions and did a concert together. My third blessing and certainly, not the least, is my second daughter, Carrie, who was born after 8 years of being told I could not have any more children. My youngest will be 21 in December and I moved up to Franklinton, La. to run a small kennel with my sister where we. We are blessed to be animal lovers, meeting good, christian people and have the time to do church activities and sing at weddings, funerals, nursing homes, visit churches.
The Master has blessed my faithfulness and trust in Him, even though I am not worthy, but none the same in His own time, and now I have grandchildren and a whole new extended family. And it is wonderful to know that He is not done with us, yet. Glory to His name!!!
