Casa de Campo Alpaca Ranch, located in northernmost Texas Hill Country, is graced with rolling hills, shade trees, gentle breezes and magnificent vistas. It is home to Bob and Laurie Osterling and their expanding herd of alpacas that produce quality fleece for elegant, durable, one-of-a-kind rugs for interior décor.
Bob and Laurie both left the city life and the corporate world in 2005 to establish Casa de Campo Ranch and realize their dream of alpaca ranching. Having acquired their foundation herd in 2003 (a herd sire and three females) Bob, Laurie, and alpacas moved to their new home, Casa de Campo (“Home in the Country”) located near Stephenville, Texas. Since then, the herd has grown each year with four more cria (baby alpacas) expected in the last quarter of this year. Each has his or her own personality and specifically outstanding features that will be of interest to those appreciate this wonderful breed of animal.
The mission of Casa de Campo Alpaca Ranch is to maximize production of one of Mother Nature’s finest creations – pure alpaca fiber. Its natural benefits include warmth, softness (it’s finer than cashmere) and durability. Alpaca fiber is hypoallergenic, ecologically pure and beautiful in its natural colors. Each year, our alpaca fiber – never altered, never dyed - and 100% from our own Texas-raised alpacas, is meticulously hand woven into upscale, durable, one-of-a-kind alpaca rugs for elegant home or business appointments.
