Ceramics by Mims. One-of-a-kind functional pottery. She hand builds all of her one-of-a-kind pieces using the hard and soft slab method as opposed to throwing on the wheel. This method allows for a more organic feel and a greater artistic range of shapes and sizes. Each piece has its own unique personality achieved by incorporating her own handmade stamping to add interesting textures. She especially enjoys experimenting with glaze combinations for truly unique colors and textures. All her work is stoneware, high fired to cone 10. Her pieces can be functional and are oven and microwave safe. Also her glazes are food safe. She works to infuse each piece with its own unique personality and strives for asymmetry while revealing the beauty in imperfection.
