Cheryl Ann Hunter “dabbled” in art for over 40 years before taking herself seriously. When creating a piece, whether pencil sketch, watercolor, acrylic or oil she is always looking for shadow and light play. She finds joy in watching the way sunlight skips between branches on a windy day, or how shadow in different environment changes the feel of an image. Cheryl strives to capture these moments in her work, drawing attention to a point in the piece or creating a visual story. She finds satisfaction in creating balance and finding values that drive the mood. The artist enjoys working with acrylics in her paintings as it borrows the best of watercolor and oil without the challenges. Her illustrations may entail a scanned pencil sketch with digitized coloring or traditional watercolor.
