As a retired, high risk labor and delivery nurse, I have taken thousands of footprints. I now use archival ink stamp pads and place the prints onto fabric and embroider the infant's birth info to create a momento to keep forever. I can make it a family experience, having siblings involved with handprints and fabric paint, and then embroider poems and other meaningful things on it. They are then framed, sewn onto blankets, or bound and hung as a wall-hangings. I create many types of personalized embroidered gifts, as well as quilts. I also teach sewing, quilting, and machine embroidery.
