We raise chickens, goats, and dogs and have a small farm with tomatoes, apples, cucumbers, peppers, etc. on it. Enjoying our home and land, as a family we are discovering through the Cottage Act how we can share the harvest of our land with you!
I make Tomato Red Pepper Jam (a favorite once people try it), old fashioned Apple Butter (I cook it for 30 hours), Mint Jelly, and mini apple and pecan pies. A great combination during the holidays is the Mint Jelly and Hot Tomato Jam. I put each over cream cheese for a red and green appetizer at parties.
I also use the mint I grow and buy lavender from another small farm to make sachets that are great for digestion and sleep aides.
In addition, I've written two books - Woman Redeemed, a novel about Mary Magdalene and Signs, Signs, Everywhere Signs, a collection of childrens stories about Colorado. My 11 year old son makes Rosaries - also in Colorado colors - one like the flag, one for each of the sports teams, and in college colors!
In the future, as our goat herd grows, I will be adding goat milk soap to my sales.
