Making beautiful hand made tie dyed clothing has been a passion of mine for almost 30 years. I got my start in the early 1980's when I was on the road touring with the Grateful Dead. I needed a way to make money so I learned through trial and error how to tie dye. My stuff is unique to me, no one else does it the exact way I do. I love experimenting with design and color and even more I love sharing these very colorful, very happy tie dye t's with anyone who wants to purchase them. The process for each shirt is virtually the same. Each shirt is pre washed and then soaked in a chemical that enables the dye to react in such a way that it becomes permanent on the cotton fiber. Each shirt is folded, tied and dyed and it takes 24 hours + for each and every shirt from beginning to wash out. I used to sell my shirts at Grateful Dead shows when the band was on tour and when they weren't I dyed a bunch more and sold them at various craft and art shows and festivals in my native Nebraska. That was a long time ago, and I am ready to get going again. The Grateful Dead are no more but there are lots of Art and Craft Shows that I would love to attend and sell my shirts. It has always been a labor of love for me.
