The Dare Day festival is a free outdoor festival that celebrates Dare County, NC and its heritage. The festival in its 40th year is the unofficial kick-off for the season.
The festival is held rain or shine and attracts thousands of people. Bring the children to have their faces painted, play games and enjoy the bouncy house and inflatable slide.
Vendors open their booths on the Manteo Waterfront and surrounding areas offering something for everyone. The smell of fresh seafood, sausages, hot-dogs, hamburgers, funnel cakes, BBQ, and much more fill the air. There is homemade and soft served ice-cream, fresh squeezed lemonade, shaved ice and all kinds of cold drinks to quench your thirst as you listen to the live music provided on two stages for the enjoyment by all.
