My Aunt taught me to crochet When I was about 13 years old. I loved it. It was difficult at first because she is left handed and I am right handed. I had to learn to do it all backwards. I jumped right into it and made a baby blanket and two sets of baby clothes. Of course, I was only using two simple stitches. As I got older and had better things to do I moved away from crocheting to do other thing's. Once my children were older I started to pick it up again. As time went on I learned more and more stitches and taught myself how to do more and more things. I began making different items for family and friends for gifts. I then started making Hats for the Homeless in Grand Rapids. I gave my hats to my church and they were able to distribute them for me. I decided to set up an Etsy site to share my gifts with others. I still feel that it is important for me to continue to help the homeless (because at any time that could be anyone of us), so for every hat that I sell I will make a hat to give to those on the streets of Grand Rapids.
