Taking something simple and making it elegant or unusual is my hobby. I’m as often found in the aisles of hardware stores as my local bead shop or craft store. I get a lot of my inspiration from my doodles made in the margins of notebooks I use in my college classes. I’ve found that creating helps me think, and I feel that my creations reflect this. I believe that art is something that you only admire for its beauty or construction, but something that also makes you pause and think; it should tell a story. I’m inspired by artists like MC Escher and renaissance jewelers and architects. These artists’ artworks transcend time and span culture. At the same time, I’m not above making something that brings a smile, a laugh, or a quirk of the lips to a passing pedestrian.
