I was born and raised in Columbus Ohio. I now reside in Westerville with my wife of 35 years Dorothy, and my twin daughters Jennifer and Alise. I've been there from 1985 to present.
I have been involved with art in some form or another for as long as I can remember. I studied pottery at the Columbus College of Art and Design in 1976.
I served as a Photographer in the Navy for five years. At the time it seemed like a good inexpensive way to see the world. I was not disappointed. During that time I visited eight countries in three years at sea.
All of my experiences are reflected in my pieces. You may see some of my travels in my work. When I set down at the wheel to make pottery I have no preconceived idea of what I will make. The heart and hands do the thinking. I'm just along for the ride.
I am a fulltime artist. My philosophy about art is that I work to make a living, but I do art, to live.
