Davey J's daily business name is David M. Jones. I am a bandleader, entrepreneur, and music scholar. From an adopted home community in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, I am a performer, promoter, and scholar of American Roots music, particularly blues. In our band, we play a variety of roots styles that includes rock and roll, American folk and country, and reggae. I front several combos (Davey J and the Jones Tones, Davey J & Friends). I also write and record original music as well as operate a tiny underground venue in a renovated factory space in Eau Calrie. I also am an organizer of local events, including the Chippewa Valley Reggae Festival, the Eau Claire Goof Ball, and the ongoing Rush River Folk Festival.
I still have a great interest in future collaboration with musical and visual artists, entrepreneurs, and event organizers to perform quality regional music and promote local and sustainable business models. Our band is also available, in formats that range from my own solo act to a 4-piece rockin' roots combo.
