David's work blends the natural with the dream world, invoking familiarity with questions that ask the viewer to seek their answers. His work uses vibrant colors and natural shapes with gestural abstractions to draw the viewer into a new world of personal immersion and thoughtful introspection. Always looking for a tension-filled balance of familiar comfort with an intriguing question compels the viewer to look deeper.
Born and raised in Southern California, Baldwin is now based in Santa Rosa, California. When he was a kid, he dreamt of being an advertising executive, just like Darrin Stevens on Bewitched. And so, as an artist from a young age, Baldwin took that talent into advertising and began a career in graphic design. After working in an agency, he realized he could run his own business and succeed. Thirty-five years later, Baldwin still runs his own successful graphic design business.
Baldwin has always painted and is excited to make that passion into a career. Also, an avid cyclist and musician, if not designing, painting, cycling, or creating music for his new brand, "Unhowto," Baldwin can be found creating fabulous meals for his family.
