David LaFleur, Charles Town, WV
With a rich tenor voice and a mastery of the guitar, dobro, mandolin, and dulcimer, David LaFleur has been performing his unique mixture of Appalachian, folk, blues, bluegrass and humor for over 20 years.
He is a two-time winner of the Australian Pacific Songwriting Competition, has performed in the Kennedy Center and the Mountain Stage NewSong Festival, and has received honors in 8 national songwriting contests. He has performed for over 1,000 audiences in the past 5 years, touring the east coast and Mid-Atlantic regions and recently in Scotland.
LaFleur learned his “chops” performing among such roots acts as Danny Gatton, Emmy Lou Harris, and the Johnson Mountain Boys. He has opened for Tom Rush and the Seldom Scene, and his original music has been featured on TV, radio and internet stations across the country.
Superb musicianship, an artful array of thoughtful and sometimes hilarious songs mixed with dynamic stage presence and dry wit keep LaFleur in high demand at concerts and festivals.
