Animal Fancy first launched in 2011 with 23 anthropomorphic "characters." Having created the "internal world" of "Fancyville" that exists within artist Donna Sanna's Animal Fancy online shop, over 250 "folks" have been artistically born and now reside in this wonderfully magical place. Each character has a name and role in the Fancyville community, complete with wizards, gypsies, a town president, common folks, high and low power characters, to list a few. Available in various size art prints, note cards and mounted canvas, her work can now be seen in over 20 countries, in commercial establishments both domestic and abroad, on various products sold by established companies as well as small boutiques and gift shops around the U.S. Her image of "Ramsey," (a big-horned mountain goat on a bicycle!), was recruited in 2012 to join the permanent art collection at the Rochester Museum of Fine Arts in New Hampshire.
As a hopeless animal lover, animal rescuer, and experienced wildlife rehabilitator, Donna has creatively incorporated her passion for animals with her talent and skill as an anthropomorphic artist to create artwork that can be best described as sophisticated whimsy. A native Pennsylvanian, Donna currently resides in the beautiful suburbs of Chester County, surrounded by an orchard, where the abundance of birds and wildlife provide daily inspiration.
