Our Story:
Started in 2020 by Steve Hoeksema & Veronica Domeniconi, Down By The River Co. is a home-grown business that was founded on the core principals of quality, care & building a community. We came up with our name shortly after our son River was born mid-2020. Started in our kitchen of our apartment and has grown into something we are truly proud of. Thank each and every one of you for making our dreams reality.
Working only with 100% soy wax flakes, every single candle is still made by hand from beginning to end. The candle fragrances we create are close to nature with un-fussy, recognizable scents that are comforting and familiar. Minimizing the environmental impact of the business is at the forefront of every decision and plastic-free packing and re-filling are closely focused on.
