About

Edward Gilmore

Member Since: March 2, 2015
Edward W. Gilmore is an abstract expressionist artist who is passionate about creating art.  He lives in Hayden, Idaho with his family.  He began painting on canvas in 2003, and was forever committed heart and soul to creating art henceforth.  Gilmore's paintings are widely collected throughout the United States and internationally.  To date, he has participated in over 70 art trade shows.  He spends most of his time creating art, and is quite prolific.  Gilmore loves to work with large canvases, and one of his largest is over 22 feet in length.  One of his favorite sizes of canvas to work with is probably 48" x 60".  Gilmore's work is fascinating, and inspiring.  He uses different techniques to achieve the variety of work and artistry in his collection of paintings and artwork.  Gilmore's diversity of work has everything from layers of texture, depth, intensity and three dimensional qualities, to smooth, tranquil strokes, peaceful subdued color combinations with a gloss-like finished quality.  Gilmore's art work is not premeditated or planned.  He paints by the feelings and emotions from within him and when inspired to do so.  He does not force the painting or the act thereof.   Gilmore also has painted many commissioned paintings from special requests from a story, an experience, a feeling, and/or particular colors upon request.  Another special fact about Gilmore is that he has donated much of his time and artwork to several charities that he feels very strongly about and supports.   His true love of painting and creating artwork can only be matched by the love he has for his family.  His wish for those that choose to purchase his artwork is that they do so because they love it and want it on their walls.  It brings him joy to bring the joy of his artwork to others.
