After a lengthy hiatus from the Austin music scene, 2008 saw former Johnny Law frontman, Erik Larson, return to the rock arena. Rounding up talented and seasoned Austin musicians Billy "Chainsaw" Dansfiell (Agony Column, Dropkick), Joe Eddy Hines (Alejandro Escovedo, Buick McKane) and Hector Munoz (True Believers, Alejandro Escovedo), a new band, Erik Larson and Peacemaker, was born.
Catchy, radio-friendly songs, identifiable lyrics, and a dynamic stage show are some of the reasons fans can't get enough. Channeling the likes of Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, and Waylon Jennings, Erik Larson and Peacemaker create a true connection to the soul of the common man. With songs that run the gamut from heartbreakers to rockers, from spellbinders to classics, Erik Larson and Peacemaker put their own gritty, raw stamp on the Red Dirt/Americana music. Call it Dirty Americana or Americana Dirt - ELP burn a new brand on a classic Texas sound.
Having successfully released their first album, the self-titled cd Erik Larson and Peacemaker in May, 2010, ELP have recently returned to the studio. Their next album is scheduled to be released fall 2015.

"Erik Larson and Peacemaker will be on my top 5 list of favorite local CDs this year. At first I was a bit surprised by the rootsy, country flavor and the newfound honesty coming from Erik's rock and roll heart. But listen. The album's got an authenticity and Stonesy grit, with recurring themes about drinkin', drugs, messin' up, and a turbulent family relationship. In the end, it seems, peace is made with the demons, and redemption comes. A great album from start to finish."
