Fabricscapes, Perris, CA
I create artistic framed landscapes using fabric collage. I work in two styles; reallistic where the art looks like a painting of a real place, and impressionistic where the work is more about line and color with a landscape influence. I use many types of fabrics, but primarily silk, silky or shiny synthetics, and many hand painted silks and cottons.
Fabricscapes is a unique art form. While it has it's roots in quilting and other fabric arts, it has emerged more into a true framed art form and away from the craft of quilting.
As a side line, I paint much of the fabric that I use, and sell the fabric for those that would like to try creating their own fabricscape, or for other textile arts and crafts.
