I learned the craft of sewing from my mother. Many of the items she made were out of necessity. A dress for me a shirt or pants for my brothers. I remember how she used to thread the needle with a strand of thread almost as long as her arm and put the thimble on her finger and began to sew. I always wanted a thimble and to sew like that. Now I find great pleasure in sewing , especially by hand. When I'm working on a project my thoughts turn to her and how she clothed me and the rest of the family with her loving stitches.
