Love the Bag or the Tag?

Love the Bag or the Tag?

Do you love handbags as much as I do?

What are your must haves in your handbag? Do you like an organized bag? Do you need a cell phone holder? A PDA/camera holder? A zippered pocket? How about an exterior pocket? Is the lining important to you? Do you care what the interior looks like of could you care less?

I have a lot of specs when it comes to my bags. I need all of the above. Add to that a comfortable handle. It must be easy to hold, and sturdy, well attached but also pretty. This is an important accessory. Everyone sees your bag and your bag can say a lot about you. It must be structured but also soft and pliable. I don't want a hard material brushing up against the rest of my clothes. And in best case scenarios, I get so excited when I find a bag that I love and it has metal feet on a flat bottom.

I know that sounds like a lot. But, I also know that I am not the only person who puts that much thought into buying a bag? I know something else too; my customers are very happy I do. They don't realize they want those things until they have or don't have them, respectively.

The one thing I couldn't care less about.......the labels. Don't get me wrong, I love designer bags. I love the shapes, the colors, the materials, the amenities and most importantly the attention to detail. What I do not like is the price tag that goes with it. I was looking at an article on designer bags today and it actually listed one at over $140,000. Please.......unless it's Platinum plated and comes with someone that is going to carry it for me, there is no way on God's green earth I would spend that much money on a bag. Even if I could afford it.

I love a quality bag. Does that mean I will pay whatever the price to get one? No, I won't, because I don't have to. I sell handbags as well as other accessories. I shop all over to find the bags that meet my qualifications with an amazing price tag to go with it. There is no reason to carry a bag that doesn't make you look your best or more importantly feel your best without the guilt that can sometimes go along with it when we spend money on ourselves.

One of the reasons I started my business is because I knew there was a better way to look like the stars and the ladies on Madison Avenue without having to go broke to do it. It's all about choices and who you are trying to impress. I dress for me. I have to confess, it's all about me and how I feel. If the shoes are wrong or the bag doesn't work, my night starts off on a bad note. But, when I feel put together, life is good. Does that have anything to do with a designer label? NO WAY. It has to do with me making good choices that make me feel great.

I am a shopper. If you ask my husband he will say "she's a professional shopper". I love the chase for the perfect item at the perfect price. I know many people do not have that kind of time and end up paying way too much for things. That's where I come in. At least in my small portion of the internet I have done that for you. I don't mark high and come down to bargain prices. I believe in giving you the bargain out of the gate. I also believe all retail should be like that. But, that is another discussion.

So let me ask you, does that metal plate on your bag make you feel better at the end of the day? Does the designer zipper pull increase your self worth? If it's all about the label, I can't help you. If it's about the look, then sit down grab a glass of wine and let's talk.
