Since I got my DeWalt scroll saw, I've been able to really expand my skills.  I first started with peace signs and hearts, and evolved from there.  I serialize all of my work, so as of 1/2/17, I have almost completed #125.

I draw my design on a sanded piece of quarter inch plywood, which takes about 3 to 4 hours.  It's easy to do while watching a ball game.  Once the drawing is finalized, I cut it on the scroll saw.  This also takes about 3 hours, depending on the detail, of course.  Some pieces I can cut it in one long cut, preserving the negative image. Other pieces require the blade to be removed many times.  Once the cut is complete.  I sand the piece, both front and back.

Now is when phase II of imagination comes in - what you gonna do with it? Type of background, no background, stained, painted, color, size, shape, etc..    Sky's the limit, really.

My results can be found at Etsy.com/shop/gomerswood.
