My lures are reproductions of antique patented wood fish lures from 1900 to 1950. This was the heyday of wood lures in the U.S. Before 1900 there were no wood lures. they were metal, glass or ceramic. After 1950 plastics took over and dominated the market, so that fifty year period was the golden age of wood lures. This was also a uniquely American experience and qualifies as an American art form. Each lure is Basswood turned on my wood lathe, painted with six to eight coats of enamel and finished using S.S. fittings, glass eyes and Eagle claw hooks. Each lure comes in a beautiful wood presentation box, a written history and a copy of the patent drawing.
