Flame & Stone is a one woman operation. Each piece from Flame & Stone is designed and fabricated by hand by me, Hilary Nelson, in my small studio tucked in the woods of Madeline Island. Designs are informed by organic forms & textures melded with symbolism & sacred numbers. Inspiration comes from images captured during daily meditations, walks through the woods, combing the shore, and through the grit of living life surrounded by Lake Superior & the Northwoods.
Materials used are purchased or sourced consciously & in an ethical manner. Recycled metals are used whenever possible, and all scrap is recycled. I support USA owned and small / local businesses when available.
