Exchange Club of Falcon Craft Show 10/19-20/2012

posted October 21, 2012
This was the second year I participated in this terrific craft fair. It is sponsored by the Exchange Club of Falcon, and benefits the High Plains Helping Hands and God's Pantry of Ellicott, both wonderful non-profit organizations that are in dire need of donations, due to the down-turned economy. The Exchange Club of Falcon is also a non-profit dedicated to the community, child abuse prevention, the youth, and Americanism.

There were over 80 vendors this year, and while there weren't as many customers as we'd like to see, we all did a bit of business. We're tucked away in a building in Falcon called "The Patriot Learning Center," and I think it's hard for people unfamiliar with the area to find, even with the awesome job of signage done by Leonore Misner and her volunteers.

For those of you unfamiliar with the area, the Patriot Learning Center is tucked in behind the Pikes Peak Community College group of buildings. To get to it, you take Woodmen East until you get to Hwy. 24, turn right, then turn left on Meridian, left on Swingline, and then you end up parking where ever there's space left. There are people available to direct you to the parking, the shopping, or, if you're a vendor, to where you're supposed to set up--they even have helpers to help you set up and tear down!

I sold a couple of custom pieces (thank you, ladies!), as well as flint-knapped arrowheads, a labradorite ring, a couple of pendants to a dear friend (thank you, Joann), a necklace, and a couple a miscellaneous items...I donated a pendant to the silent auction which also benefitted the non-profits above.

The show runs Friday 1400-1900, and Saturday 0900-1600, and I would bet we saw around 2000 people come through, if not more, so that's a pretty good showing for a fairly new craft fair!

Anyone who is interested in getting into this fair needs to contact Leonore Misner at leonore_misner@msn.com--she can let you know what spaces are available.

Until next time.
