Patrick McLean is an Oakville resident and first time author of "One Last Hurrah," a fictional account of an aging major league baseball player who needs an organ transplant to live, but comes back for one more season. He exceeds all expectations, including his own, with the help of the last National League player to win the Triple Crown-- way back in 1937. And, this player just so happens to have been deceased for over 25 years! The hero's body continues to break down over the course of the long season, forces inside and outside the clubhouse work towards ensuring his failure, and the ballclub needs him desperately as the season winds down.
